Weight Loss Drugs
Mounjaro and Wegovy are still not available locally on the NHS.
Although Sumaglutide (Wegovy) and Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) has been approved by NICE (National Clinical of Clinical Excellence) for the use of weight loss, these drugs still require the development of the local NHS specialist weight loss services, pathways and processes to support the use of these medications. This has been the case since 2023 when Sumaglutide was approved by NICE. We are advised that they will hopefully develop these pathways and services will be developed by 2026. We will keep you posted on this.
If you would like to raise any issues, concerns or feedback in the local provision of these services please contact North Central London Integrated Care Board (NCL ICB).
